Research project: Evaluation of ecotoxicological and health risks, related to the local water contamination: case of the Guadalquivir River in Tarija and the Rocha River in Cochabamba, Bolivia.
I’m evaluating the ecotoxicological and health risks related to the local water contamination by defining proper bioindicators. The contamination present in the waters and sediments from the Guadalquivir and the Rocha Rivers is used as a case study. My aim is to assess adverse outcomes of contaminated natural water samples in different species and looking for determined biomarkers, related to the adverse effects occurring, in the target species such outcomes can substantiate an evaluation of the effects of aquatic pollution on humans health.
