Research project: The effect of micro- and nanoparticles on neurodevelopment.
My expertise is centered on understanding physiological responses to toxicological stressors, particularly related to (neuro)development, redox biology and the microbiome. Over the past three years, I have put my focus on micro and nanoparticle-induced (neuro)developmental toxicity. To study the associated complex toxicological endpoints, I use the highly regenerative planarian Schmidtea mediterranea as an alternative in vivo model.
